Blessed be the name of the Lord!
While the weather may not suggest we are on the brink of the summer holidays a Sunday School Prize giving does remind us that it’s that time of year.
It’s always enjoyable to see and hear our children praising God in song and sharing something of what they have learned from God’s Word in the course of the year. As we enjoy them so, I am sure, God himself delights in the praise of the children. Our heartfelt prayer is that the words on their lips would reflect the conviction of their hearts.
Today is an opportune moment to thank Judy Laing for all her work as Sunday School superintendent and to extend that gratitude to all the Sunday School teachers. Thank you and have a well deserved and enjoyed break over the summer! It would be remiss not to also thank the children themselves and the mums and dads for enthusiastically taking part in and supporting the Sunday School through the year.
While all the children will be getting a prize this morning we do especially congratulate Neil Campbell and Emma MacLelland who did so well in the Free Church Awards coming 2nd and 7th respectively in their age groups. Well done Neil and Emma!
We can do no better than echo the words of Scripture sung by the children; Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Tea and Coffee: Tea, coffee and biscuits are served downstairs in the hall after the morning and evening services. Everyone is very welcome to come downstairs and join us for this.
Family Service and Prizegiving: Could all Sunday School children please sit in the first 3 rows of the church this morning where the Sunday School teachers will be present to look after them throughout the Family Service and Prizegiving. Thank you!
Communion – The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the evening service on the 8th of July.
Thanks – As we thank all those involved in Sunday School we also want to publicly acknowledge and thank those who have been responsible for the running of Little Lambs. In the final weeks over a hundred wee tots and assorted mums, dads and helpers have been squeezing into the big hall! Such has been the growth that the end of term party became the end of term parties with the need to divide the whole group in two with all the extra work that this implies. You know who you are and we are grateful!!
On the theme of thanks I also want to thank Jonathan Worthington and Rachel Stewart who have been taking charge of the Parenting Course that concludes this Friday.
Ladies Book Study - Monday 25th of June, 7.15 at Wilma's. We will be studying Chapter 5 of The Practice of Godliness by Jerry Bridges
