Midsummer Evening Hillwalk – Clachnaben – June 17th
On Friday 17th June a few of us are hoping to do an evening hill walk up Clachnaben to enjoy the sunset and hopefully stunning views of Aberdeenshire!
The hill walk will take around 3 hours and is around 9km in length.
We will meet at the Glen Dye car park at 7pm and finish up around 10pm.
Dogs are welcome but need to be kept on the lead during certain sections of the walk due to the sheep.
If you would like to come please let Angus (07843172313) or Judy (07449775270) know by 12th June so we can arrange lifts and car shares if necessary.
Please bring with you sturdy walking shoes, a waterproof jacket, a torch, water, snacks and a flask of something warm to enjoy at the top.
The walk has some uneven parts and some steep sections. However, it is suitable for most people with moderate fitness, older children and teenagers.
Here is the link to the walk on the Walk Highland website:
Congregational Lunch – 19th June
After two long years without one we are planning a congregational lunch on the 19th June. Pop the date in your diary and come and join us for a time of food and friendship after the morning service. All are welcome!
Prayer Points for the Week Ahead
- Pray for those who are new to our congregation, that they might settle, grow in relationships quickly and feel at home at Bon Accord.
- Pray for The Well, that good connections would be made in the local community and people would come in and see the outworking of God’s love in those who volunteer week by week.
- Pray for the Elders as we consider how we pastorally care for and disciple those in our congregation over the coming months.
- Pray for those who find it difficult through health or circumstances to be with us in person on Sundays.
Our City and Nation
- Inter-Church Holiday Club
Pray for the Holiday Club and Legacy being run in the summer, for team members who will be able to serve and for children to come and hear the gospel perhaps for the first time.
We are a small team of 14 adults and 8 children. Please pray that we continue to grow in relationship with one another and have unity around the Gospel and what that looks like at different stages of life.
- Roskeen Free Church
Pray for all those who went through the recent Hope Explored course that what they heard would have a real impact on their lives and that would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Pray for Calum Macmillan as he is about to go on paternity leave and that all would go well with the birth of his new baby.
- Free Church Youth Camps
Give thanks for all the leaders and campers going to camps this summer. Pray that these would be good for the spiritual growth of our young people – especially leaders and campers going from Bon Accord.
Our Mission Partners
- Bethany Christian Trust
Pray for the Toastie Club that meets every Wednesday at lunchtime. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with those who come.
Pray for those in our city who are struggling with homelessness, addiction, mental health issue and loneliness and for those in Bethany who reach out to them with both physical and spiritual help.
- The Persecuted Church – Nigeria
The level of trauma among Christians is reaching crisis levels as men are killed, women are raped and abducted, and youths are left in despondency over the future. Pray for healing and hope. Pray for the many militant groups who attack Christians in Nigeria. Ask God to change their hearts as only He can. Ask God to be with believers who have been kidnapped.
- Pray for those who grieve and have lost children and loved ones in the shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
- Pray for the situation in Hong Kong where liberties are shrinking, not least for Christians and the church.
- Pray for God’s wisdom and truth to prevail in the sanctity of life discussions taking place in the USA and here in the UK. Pray that the most vulnerable would be protected.
- Pray for those suffering in Ukraine, for peace to return and for loss to be limited. Pray that the Lord would restrain the violence. Pray especially for Christians in Ukraine not to lose faith, but to look to Christ and cling to him in their loss.
