The next session is this Thursday 5th May starting at 7 pm with a light meal and finishing by 9 pm. Even if you did not manage to the previous sessions you are more than welcome to come along.

If you would like to attend the course or come along with a friend, please speak to Norman Buchanan.

Invitations for this event are available for you to take away and give to friends and family.

Prayer Meeting

Over the next few weeks in our fortnightly Prayer Meetings, we are going to be looking at the theme of friendship using the book ‘True Friendship’ by Vaughan Roberts. There are copies of the book available for a small donation of £3. Please speak to Judy to get your copy or pick it up in the church foyer.

Giving

At Bon Accord we understand that giving financially to the church is a joyful response that flows from hearts transformed by the grace of Jesus.

If you would like to give regularly to the work of Bon Accord, we encourage this through standing order or a bank transfer.

The bank details are:

Bon Accord Free Church – Royal Bank of Scotland

Prayer Points for the week ahead:

Our Church

  • Pray for the Hope Explored course that is running on Thursday evenings. Pray that those who have come along will discover for themselves who Jesus is and come to know and trust in Him.

  • Pray for our teenagers and students who are in the middle of sitting exams. This is the first time in two years that they have sat in-person exams. Pray that they would be able to focus on their studies and not be anxious but would trust in God who will meet all of their needs.

Our City and Nation

  • Cross Free Church, Lewis
Pray for Rev. Ewan Matheson as he continues to lead Cross Free Church. Pray that the work of the congregation in the community would bear much fruit.

  • Central Office, Edinburgh
Pray for the Board of Trustees which will be meeting today. Pray that the meeting goes smoothly as they make final preparations for the General Assembly.

  • Oban Free Church
Iain Morrison was inducted into Oban Free Church in January. Pray that his ministry would take root and flourish so the kingdom would advance.

Our Mission Partners

  • Craig Anderson, Galashiels
Pray for Craig and Amy as they look for a suitable house for them in Galashiels.  Pray also for Craig as he meets with interested folks in places further afield in places such as Kelso and Peebles. Pray that he would be guided as to how much time to invest in these relationships, along with time spent in Galashiels. Pray also for them as they seek to book the community centre from September to December.

  • Charleston Church Plant, Dundee
Pray that they would be able to find a suitable worker/s to replace Craig when he moves to Galashiels.

Our World

  • The Persecuted Church – Somalia
Pray for peace in Somalia. The country continues to struggle with unrest and violent attacks from Islamic extremists.

In Somalia, Islam is the state religion and every part of society is stacked against Christians. Pray for believers living in this reality. Ask God to encourage His people in Somalia, that they would sense they belong to a global family.

  •  T, Middle East
Pray for a group in T, Middle East that aims to explain the Gospel to those who have never heard it, and specifically that the Holy Spirit would bless the conversations they have with enquirers. Many contact them with questions and ask for Bibles. Pray for those organising Christian summer camps in T, Middle East this year. They face numerous challenges, not least those caused by the pandemic and the difficult economic situation in the country.

  • Dumisani Theological Institute
Pray for the principal and VP at Dumisani Theological Institute in the Eastern Cape as they work towards developing a new Biblical Counselling workshop/short course programme to be used for training days through Dumisani. Pray for Term Two at Dumisani Institute which resumed after the Easter break and that attendance will be a real priority for all after the break. Pray for roof maintenance with Brother Lawrence's crew for Dumisani which is being done on the office building and that all necessary upgrades will go smoothly.
