BIG CHURCH CLEAN – 29th March at 7pm
It is time for a spring clean!
On Tuesday 29th March at 7pm there will be a big church clean. This only happens once or twice a year so please come along and help, even if you can only spare an hour. Every little bit of help is much appreciated.
Church Cleaning Rota
Following on from our big church clean we will be starting a new church cleaning rota. Our church has been faithfully cleaned by a small group of ladies week by week over the last couple of years. It is time to give them a hand!
A new rota will begin from the middle of April. Please consider if you can be on this rota and help clean the church once every few months. The more people that volunteer to help the less frequently we will all be on.
The cleaning teams will consist of around 3 people and it will take around an hour of your time.
Please speak to Judy or email administrator@bafreechurch if you are able to serve in this way.
Upcoming Easter Services and Hope Explored Course
Over Easter weekend (15th -17th April) we will be sharing the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection with services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Following on from this we will be running a 3 week Hope Explored course for those who would like to discover more about who Jesus is.
Invitations for both of these events will be available soon to share with friends and family. More information will be shared about the Hope Explored course over the coming weeks. If you would like to attend or to come along with a friend please speak to Joe or Norman Buchanan.
Prayer Meeting Information and Zoom Link
This week's Prayer Meeting will be in-person in the downstairs hall at 7:30 pm. We will be continuing our Passion for Life training series where we are learning how to share our faith intentionally with others. Each session stands on its own, so if you have not been along already you are very welcome to join us. The evening lasts for around an hour and consists of a short devotion, video, and a time of prayer.
If you are unable to manage in-person here are the details for joining us on Zoom.

Old or Unused i-Pad
I, Judy, am looking for an old or unused iPad to use for church purposes on a Sunday. If anyone has one that they are willing to donate then please speak to me. It only needs to be in working order and doesn't need to have any of the latest updates. Thank you!
Volunteers needed at Equip Bookstall (Formerly CLC – now located in Kings Community Church)
A note from Grant -
Dear brothers and sisters,
I hope this finds you well.
As some of you may know, the new Equip Bookshop (replacing CLC in the Academy) has been going for almost a year now. Over the year we've seen a fair bit of growth in a few areas: we've had a steady flow of folks from Kings Church and churches across Aberdeen coming to see our new premises and make use of the great resources we have; we have a solid team of volunteers who help run the shop; and we've been able to take part in a few events with churches over past few months.
At this point in time I'd like to thank you all on behalf of your church families for supporting the bookshop, in whatever way, and ensuring that yourselves and your church are well equipped to grow in faith and effectiveness for the Kingdom.
I'd also like to extend an invitation to each of your churches for anybody that has a heart for serving and/or Christian books. It would be great to have more churches around Aberdeen being represented in our volunteer team.
If it helps to inspire your church, here's a slideshow of our new branding with info about our Equip discount scheme and our new website (equippingthechurch.com).
Prayer Points for the week ahead:
- Give thanks for the opportunities Easter brings to share the good news of Jesus. Pray for the opportunities and courage to invite people you know to one of our Easter services or Hope Explored course in April.
- Pray for our students as it approaches a busy time of year with exams and deadlines looming. Pray that they would honour Christ in their studies and not be anxious but bring all their concerns to the One who loves them and cares for them more than any other.
- Continue to remember Anne as she meets with the students on a 1-2-1 basis, discipling them and opening the Scriptures with them. Pray for wisdom and strength as she goes about her daily tasks.
City and Nation
- Free Church Youth Conference
The Youth Conference is taking place in Lendrick Muir this weekend. Please pray for the committee, the speakers and all those who are attending, that it would be a fun and encouraging weekend for all involved.
- Donnie G – Portree
Please pray for Donnie G as he undergoes stem cell treatment and chemotherapy for the next 4-6 weeks at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Please pray for his wife, Debbie, and children as they will be separated from him for this period. Also remember Julia (Donnie’s sister), Seoras and the family as they seek to support Donnie during this time. Please pray he would be protected from catching any infections and that the stem cell transplant and chemotherapy would be successful.
Bon Accord Mission Partners
- International Mission to Jewish People
ODESSA: Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, please pray for the protection of our missionaries, Igor and Galyna Barbanel. Please also pray for the Jewish people whom the Barbanels are sharing the gospel with at this difficult time.
- Galashiels Church Plant
Give thanks for Craig, Amy and the Anderson family as they prepare to move to Galashiels in the summer to begin planting. Pray for their ongoing encouragement and provision. Pray that God would prepare the hearts of many in the Borders to hear the gospel and respond in faith.
Pray that the people of Ukraine would be protected from the violence and that there would be the provision of essential supplies, such as food and clean water.
Pray for our world leaders who need to balance responding to the injustice of the invasions along with seeking ways to build bridges, de-escalate tensions and restore global security.
Pray that there would be an immediate end to the violence and that peace would come to the region.
- Richard and Barbara, a European City
Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send out more labourers into the island harvest here in France. The island communities tend to have little close contact with outsiders. Pray that Christian neighbours and colleagues may break in with the good news of God's love in Christ.
Our Youth Fellowship is having its annual March weekend conference away at the Atholl Centre in Pitlochry. The speaker will be the Rev Allan Shearer from Dunblane. Do pray the Lord’s unction on Allan, as he handles the word of God, and his blessing on the leaders and members of the Youth Fellowship, as they sit under the exposition of scripture. May the weekend away enrich the fellowship of our young folk and advance the work of grace in their lives.
