Communion Service – Evening

This Sunday we are joined by Andy Pearson, the minister at St Peter’s Free Church in Dundee. He will be preaching at both services. During the evening service we will be sharing the Lord’s Supper together.  Any members of any other churches worshipping us this evening are welcome to join us as we celebrate together.

During the morning service, there will be a creche for those aged 0-3 years.

There will also be Sunday School and Bible Class during the morning service. The children leave during the second singing to go downstairs for their age-appropriate lessons. Follow the crowd.

After the evening service there will be an informal Youth Fellowship. The students and young people will be meeting in a flat for food and fellowship. Please speak to Anne or one of the YF committee for more information. All are invited!

Tea and coffee will be served after both services. We would love you to come and join us.

Please continue to wear face coverings (unless exempt) in the church building. Seating is available in the gallery or to the front-left of the main seating area for those wishing to remain socially distanced

Little Lambs – Helpers Required

Little Lambs are looking for some volunteers to help out on a Friday morning. Numbers have been rising steadily since re-opening last September – there are currently around 40 families registered although only 20 or so attend each week (which can be up to 30 children). Mums enjoy this flexibility as they do not have to come along every week to ensure a place, unlike many other groups in the city. In the past, 6 helpers were present each week but currently there are just 3 plus 2 mums with young children. It would therefore be great if a couple more people were available each week for tasks such as answering the door and greeting families, helping with singing (not obligatory!) and tidying up at the end. This extra help would allow for time to have more meaningful conversations with mums and carers.

If you have some free time on a Friday please consider volunteering. You wouldn’t have to commit to every week, and even coming along for the first hour or the last hour would be a great help.  Little Lambs runs from 9.30-11.30am and a good cup of tea/ coffee and a cake is guaranteed!

Please speak to Rachel Stewart if you would like to help.

Crèche - Helpers Required

We are very thankful to God for a growing crèche in Bon Accord with a fantastic, reliable team of volunteers. At the moment there are 3 volunteers weekly on a rolling rota on duty every 5 weeks, which has been working well as many volunteers are committed to taking turns on other rotas, so a huge thank you to you all for your continued support!

As the crèche is growing we need to have 5 volunteers weekly. This means I would be looking for at least another 5-10 volunteers. I would like to appeal to the congregation for help so that the current volunteers do not need to be on the rota more often than they are already and if possible to share the workload with more volunteers. So if you have been on the rota in the past and would like to serve in this way again, please speak to either myself or the safeguarding officers Margaret Ferguson and Catriona Macleod.

Also, if you have not been helping in crèche previously and have experience working with under 3s.  We can have a chat and discuss how to go through the application process.

Finally, I would urge you all to pray for ways you and others can serve God. Please also continue to pray for wisdom on how we can support parents throughout the many different stages children go through. As we know childhood experiences shape their future in many ways.

Thank you in advance for your support. If you want to contact me for more details please text/ phone 07932 300510 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Gleanings of a Shepherds Wife by Ibby Maciver

This book is suitable for all ages and an ideal gift for Christians and non- Christians alike.

Ibby, originally from Caithness is a farmer’s wife in the Black isle. The beautiful photographs of sheep, lambs and sheepdogs are accompanied by interesting details of the work of the shepherd, her husband Donald. Alongside every short story is a reference to Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

The cost of each book is £6 of which £5 will go to the Moldova Support Group. The Moldova Support Group was one of the WFM projects last year. As one of the countries bordering Ukraine the church in Moldova is on the front line of the ensuing refugee crisis.

The books will be for sale in the church foyer.

Sale of Second Hand Books - Methodist Chutch

There will be a sale of second hand theological books at the Methodist Church on Crown Terrace, AB11 6HE on Saturday 12th March from 11am to 1pm.

Prayer Points for the week ahead:

Our Church
  • Give thanks for the opportunities Easter brings to share the good news of Jesus. Pray for the opportunities and courage to invite people you know to one of our Easter services or Hope Explored course in April.

  • Pray for our Teens Leaders as they seek to nurture and encourage the teenagers in our congregation in their walk with Christ, through Bible Class, Teens Fellowship and Teens social events.

  • Pray that our Teenagers would put their trust in the Lord at a young age and follow him throughout their lives. Pray that they would be salt and light at school and not be afraid to stand up and be counted as a follower of Jesus. Pray that they would know the truth of the Bible and not be swayed by the false teachings of our age and culture.

City and Nation
  • Falkirk
These have been encouraging times in Falkirk. Post-lockdown times have seen a significant increase in the congregation, with 5 new members by profession of faith in December, and another 4 transferring their membership to us in January. Current attendances at Sunday services have been good, with an increasing number of young people attending.

  • Enspire
On Saturday 12th March, the Enspire conference will take place for ministers' wives. Pray that the women who attend would be blessed and refreshed.

  • Hebron Evangelical Church
Give thanks for the appointment on Sunday of Jonny Gilmour as Pastor of Hebron Evangelical Church. Pray for Jonny, Fi and their 2 young boys as they prepare to return to Aberdeen. Pray Jonny would know God’s richest blessing in his future ministry at Hebron.

Bon Accord Mission Partners

  • Galashiels Church Plant
Give thanks for Craig, Amy and the Anderson family as they prepare to move to Galashiels in the summer to begin planting. Pray for their ongoing encouragement and provision. Pray that God would prepare the hearts of many in the Borders to hear the gospel and respond in faith.

The World
  • Ukraine
Pray that the people of Ukraine would be protected from the violence and that there would be provision of essential supplies, such as food and clean water.

Pray for our world leaders who need to balance responding to the injustice of the invasions along with seeking ways to build bridges, de-escalate tensions and restore global security.

Pray that there would be an immediate end to the violence and that peace would come to the region.

  • T, Central Asia
T has been hit by a severe economic crisis over the past year. Pray for those who are struggling, and for the church as it tries to help people in practical ways.
