Bon Accord Bulletin 14th November 2021

Services, for those not attending the church in person, can be found by logging in to the Bon Accord Free Church web site, and then clicking “sermons” followed by “live sermons” or by logging on Both morning and evening services will be live streamed.

The services this weekend will be conducted in the morning by Rev Donald Martin, and in the evening by our minister Rev Joe Hall. There will be a brief time of remembrance held at the beginning of the morning service. The passage for the evening service will be Jonah 1:17-2:10 ('A Sinner's Prayer?').

Next Sunday we are delighted to welcome Craig Anderson to preach in the morning and in the evening. Craig is currently a probationer serving at Charleston Community Church as a church planter in training, and preparing to begin a church plant in Galashiels in the summer of next year.

There will be a mid-week meeting this week. This week only, the Prayer Meeting will be held in the main hall upstairs as there is a one-off student society event being held in the downstairs hall. Please enter through the main doors at the front of the building for the Prayer Meeting. The zoom details for this meeting are as before.

Tea and coffee will be served after both services from the hatch at the back of the main hall. Please follow the direction of those serving and take care when moving with hot drinks. Please avoid clogging up the area around the hatch and move away as soon as you have been served.

In our morning service on Sunday 28 November, Neil Robert Bremner, son of JB and Sarah, will be baptised.

The Lord's Supper will now be shared in the evening service on Sunday 28 November. If you are considering becoming a member of Bon Accord on this occasion, or professing faith for the first time, please contact Joe. The Session will be available from 17:30 in the church building on the 28 Nov. for anyone wishing to publicly profess their faith for the first time and become a member of the church.

Shoebox Appeal:

A huge thanks to all who donated shoeboxes for this year’s Blythswood Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Thanks also to all who donated bags of essential items or donated money so that items could be purchased to make up lots more boxes. We managed to make up 74 boxes from Bon Accord which is incredible. As with past years, we also collected boxes from Gilcomston Church, Maryculter Trinity Church and St Ternan’s Episcopal Church in Muchalls and so in total we sent off 159 shoeboxes which will be making their way to poor families in Eastern Europe over the coming weeks. These will be very welcome gifts, arriving in time for Christmas. Please be assured that all you have done and the amazing kindness shown by so many will make a huge difference to those who receive these lovely boxes. Thank you
