Safeguarding

At Bon Accord we exercise Christian care for the welfare of each individual and aim to make this Church a safe place for all.

In particular, at Bon Accord we aim to protect and safeguard all those who are especially vulnerable, both children and vulnerable adults, who participate in church activities and use our services.

Bon Accord aims to safeguard these vulnerable groups through implementation of Safeguarding policies and procedures which govern the selection, vetting, assessment and training of those who work on with children and vulnerable adults so that any harm or abuse is recognised and reported.

The guidelines which we follow are available at the following website: https://freechurch.org/resources/safeguarding.

Where individuals in the Church have been affected by harm or abuse we aim to offer pastoral care and support to those affected.

If you suspect or witness harm or abuse, or if harm or abuse is reported to you, or if you have any other safeguarding concerns, you should immediately inform the congregational Safeguarding Coordinator or Depute Safeguarding Coordinator whose contact details are displayed on Church Notice Boards.

General Data Protection Regulations

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower EU citizens’ data privacy and implement key principals in the way organizations across the EU approach data privacy. At Bon Accord we aim to implement GDPR requirements to provide stronger protection for personal data and to give individuals more control over how their personal data is gathered, used, stored and shared.

Health, Safety and the Environment

At Bon Accord our policy for Health Safety and the Environment is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for the congregation and all our employees, and to provide information, training and supervision needed for this purpose.

At Bon Accord we also accept our responsibility for the environment and the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities.

The building and the activities we undertaken in it are designed to make sure that no harm comes to people or the environment.

Please act in accordance with any warning signs or notices that you find in the building. Please let us know if you see anything that you think is unsafe or if you see someone acting in a way which you think could cause injury or harm. We appreciate your support in putting our HSE policy into practice.
